Weight Watchers Crock Pot Recipes – Green Chilli With Turkey

Have you ever felt like there are certain smell of certain foods and taste of certain food take you to a memory you associate that food to. Today’s recipe is once such sweet memory I have and remember my mother making the Green Chilli With Turkey on a summer sunday afternoon as we played in the backyard. Every part of this recipe reminds me of my mother and today I am going to share this memory with you.

Ingredient  for Weight Watchers Crock Pot Recipes – Green Chilli With Turkey

Turkey Brest: 1.5 pounds

Pinto Beans: 1.5 Cups

Roasted Tomatilla Salsa: 3 Cups

Hominy: 1 Can

Bay Leaf: 1 Leaf

Chicken Broth: 3 Cups

Coriander: 1/2 Tbs

Cumin: 1/2 Coriander

Optional Toppings would include sour cream, baked tortilla strips, chopped onions, lime juice.

Ingredient required for the Tomatillo Salsa Sauce.

1.5 pounds tomatillo,

3 Jalapeno Peppers

1 Yellow Onions

8 Garlic Clives

2 Poblano Peppers

Procedure

1. Firstly we are going to make the Tomattilo Salsa Sauce so we are going to pre heat the oven to 500 degrees and place all the ingredient for the sauce sprinkle some kosher salt on them and roast them for 15-20 min.

2. After that we will wait till it becomes cold and we need to remove the skin and seeds from the peppers. Now take all these ingredients and put it in the blender and blend it and you have your Tomatillo Salsa.

3. Now all the hominy, pinto bears in the crock pot then add the turkey and bay leaf. Now season everything with salt cummin, pepper, coriander. Then pour the salsa and 3 cups of boiling chicken broth, the boiling chicken broth will cook the beans fast.

4. Now cook on low flame for about 8 hrs. About 20 min before its done shred the turkey with a fork. Cover and let it cook for a while. You can serve it with favorite dishes or freeze it and keep it for the next day
